ReBOOT: K-1 ReBIRTH – Mahmoud Sattari Makes an Appearance at Krush!
Ahead of the upcoming openweight tournament, Sattari announced, “Weight doesn’t matter once you’re in the ring. I want to show everyone an amazing performance from the new me.”
On August 27th (Sun) at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall, “Krush.152” was held. Mahmoud Sattari and Carlos Kikuta, the producer of K-1, took to the ring to deliver a message to the fans for the upcoming 30th Anniversary K-1 Openweight Tournament taking place on September 10th (Sun) at Yokohama Arena.
Carlos Kikuta, K-1 Producer
There are many highlights for the September K-1 event at the Yokohama Arena. First, we have a title match between two Krush Super Bantamweights: Akihiro Kaneko and Masashi Kumura. We’ve also got another fight scheduled between the Mikio Ueda, who fights under both MMA and Standing rules, who faces down the first Krush Cruiserweight Champion, K-Jee. I’m particularly looking forward to these two matches.
Message to fans:
We are holding an openweight tournament to commemorate K-1’s 30th anniversary. Sattari will participate as the second Krush Cruiserweight Champion. In addition, we have fighters from China, Poland, Romania, and Iran. We hope you’ll all come to Yokohama Arena on September 10th and enjoy the openweight matches of fighters from around the world. Thank you!
Mahmoud Sattari
On his condition:
Good evening, everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve been in this ring. I’m training hard for the September match, and I’m in great shape both physically and mentally. I will do my best to show everyone a great fight!
On the one-day tournament:
I’ve experienced an openweight tournament before, but I’m very much looking forward to facing new, tough opponents. I’m currently focusing on gaining weight, but once I’m in the ring, weight doesn’t matter, I always do my best. I want to show everyone an amazing performance from the new me, so please lend me your support!
Message to fans:
First of all, my thanks to K-1. I’m happy to have another chance. I’ll do my best to show all the fans a good fight, aiming to deliver another great KO like last time.
Also participating in the tournament is K-1 Cruiserweight Champion Sina Karimian, who said through the organizers, “On September 10th, you’ll witness something special from me in the ring. I’ll become the first-ever two-division heavyweight champion in K-1 history. Look forward to it!”
